It’s tax time…and also the same time that many get hit with scams!
You work hard for your wage, and we don’t want to see you lose it to some scammer who thinks they can get past your internal security system.
When it comes to your tax return, the ATO will never email you asking for information…most of it they already have.
And if you do receive an email that you think is from the ATO ensure you check it over carefully before actioning anything within the email.
Look out for extra full stops, underscores, and/or very slight typos.
Still not sure? Contact them directly! (see link at the bottom of this post)
If you ever see any emails that don’t look right, it is always best practice to report them and then delete them…you don’t want that potentially nasty stuff in your emails!
Please be careful, it is heart-breaking hearing about being unknowingly scammed!
